Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is an appealing background to the Cambodia gambling dens that lie just over the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, in which casino wagering is banned. Eight casinos are established in a relatively tiny area in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia gambling dens is in an excellent destination, a three to 4 hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest wagering locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai laborers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The amazing income accrued from the casinos ranges from 7.5 million dollars to more than 12.5 million dollars, and there are a couple of controls requirements for casino ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mainly Thai; still, investment sources are ambiguous. The borders are officially open from 0900 to 1700, and though visas are allegedly needed to pass, there are means around this, as is correct of most border crossings.

The 1st Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving just 1 gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored bateau gambling hall, features 150 one armed bandits and sixty table games. The Naga gambling hall is open all day and night with 42 tables of mini-baccarat banque, 4 tables of chemin de fer, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The 1st gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown soon followed. A total of 150 one armed bandits and five table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machines and 68 tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred slot machine games and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machines and ninety six gaming tables, including 87 punto banco (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machines and sixty six of the common table games, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, also a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machines and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-around resort and hotel building that highlights numerous comforts on top of the gambling hall, which contains 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 slot machine games and 88 tables.
