There are a number gambling dens in the state, most on moored barges. The grandest of the Iowa casinos is the Meswaki Bingo Casino Hotel, a Native American gambling hall in Tama, with 127,669 square feet of gaming area, 1,500 slots, 30 table games, such as blackjack, craps, roulette, and baccarat, and numerous types of poker; as well as 3 restaurants, monthly entertainment, and gaming instructions. A further large Amerindian casino is the Winna Vegas, with 45,000 sq.ft., 668 one armed bandits, and fourteen table games. Also, the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Council Bluffs is open 24 hours, with 38,500 square feet, 1,589 slots, 36 table games, and four dining rooms. There are several other dominant Iowa gambling dens, including Harrah’s Council Bluffs, with 28,250 sq.ft., 1,212 slots, and 39 table games.

A smaller Iowa casino is the Diamond Jo, a riverboat gambling den in Dubuque, with 17,813 square feet, 776 slots, and 19 table games. The Catfish Bend water based, in Fort Madison, with 13,000 square feet, 535 one armed bandits, and 14 table games. One more Iowa riverboat gambling hall, The Isle of Capri, is open never closes, with 24,939 square feet, 1,100 slots, and 24 table games. The Mississippi Belle II, a 10,577 square foot water based gambling hall in Clinton, has 506 slots, 14 table games, live productions, and Thursday blackjack events.

Iowa casinos provide a great deal of tax income to the state government of Iowa, which has allowed the budgeting of a lot of state wide projects. Vacationers have gotten bigger at an accelerated rate along with the demand for companies and an increase in jobs. Iowa casinos have contributed to the expansion of the market, and the excitement for betting in Iowa is across the board.
